How I wrote my first two novels on my smartphone!

Let’s go back to October 19th, 2017. I remember the exact date when I started writing my first novel. We were in Jammu visiting my sister in law. It was supposed to be a vacation but all I could think about was where to find a novel to read! Yeah. I need a book. I ALWAYS need a book. Now nobody in my family is a reader and hence, no books were there to be found.

That’s when I thought of writing my first novel. I wasn’t carrying my laptop so the adventure began on my smartphone. When one can send hundreds of texts in a day then ofcourse we can write a few thousand words in a day too! Well, it turned out to be easier said than done but I was in no way going to let a little hard work get in my way.

So despite the red itchy eyes and a bad headache and a few mood swings, I continued writing The Affair, my first novel on my smartphone.

After ten days we came back to Jaipur and I resumed my job of a full time teacher, but the writing adventure didn’t stop. I would wake up at 4AM just to write. With my baby in my lap I would spend thirty minutes every morning on my phone. Not texting or checking mails, but writing. And this continued for six months. Yup! I submitted my manuscript in May and it came out in July 2018.

Now there was no stopping me. The feel of a book written by me gave me a high that I can still feel. So, I came up with another plot and in December 2018 came my second novel, Virago.

I didn’t quit because I wanted to tell stories. I still love telling stories and that’s why, I’m coming out with my third novel by the end of this year. Stay tuned, and do give me a clap if you enjoyed reading this story ☺
